Family Peer Support Services (FPSS) focus on support, system navigation and empowerment for parents and caregivers whose children receive special education, child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, health, and substance use services. FPSS are provided by trained and credentialed Family Peer Advocates, who have had similar experiences with their own families. With its capacity to engage and facilitate participation, help parents adapt their parenting strategies, and support families to define and achieve their goals, FPSS will be a critical component of the future integrated service system.
