What to Provide and What to Expect: Conversations between Peer Support Workers and Non-Peer Supervisors
What to Provide and What to Expect: Conversations between Peer Support Workers and Non-Peer Supervisors (Supervision Learning Network, June 26, 2024)
In this Supervision Learning Network meeting, Dr. Forbes touched briefly upon the literature and her own research, which explored the experiences of Peer Support Workers/Advocates (PSW/A) supervised by non-peer supervisors. Then engaged participants in a robust conversation about what it takes to supervise this unique workforce. Whether you are a supervisor with experience as a PSW/A (“peer supervisor”) or someone that does not have that lived experience (a “non-peer supervisor”), you will learn more about challenges and some of the solutions to these challenges in providing supervision to the PSW/A workforce.
